NFL Defender Seymour A No-Show After Trade To Raiders

Trades are a fact of life for NFL players. Most players willingly accept their new assignment and try to make the best of it. That's apparently not the case with the Oakland Raiders newly acquired defensive end Richard Seymour. Seymour was acquired by the Raiders on Sunday and as of yet has not reported to his new team.

The trade surprised NFL observers, with the Patriots sending Seymour to Oakland for a 2011 first round draft pick. He had been expected to report on Monday, but was a no-show. There is some speculation that hes doing a de facto hold out in hopes of getting the Raiders to re-work his contract but this hasn't been confirmed by anyone involved.

For the time being, Raiders coach Tom Cable is being vague about the situation. He informed the media that hed spoken to Seymour earlier in the week and that he affirmed his desire to play for the Raiders but then added:

I really have nothing to report on that. Nothing has changed at this point."

He also declined to comment on questions about a potential new contract:

"I don't want to comment about anything of that until we have something that's done and concrete.

Seymours former coach in New England, Bill Belichick also gave his version of a no comment:

"Because we don't have rights to Richard, there really isn't anything I can say about him or his situation. So I'll have to pass on those questions at this time. There's a lot of things that Richard did well but that's the way it is and we're moving forward and our team's moving forward."

Pats defensive coordinator Dean Pees also gave a 'no comment':

"This is not going to be an interview about Richard. It's really about Buffalo and whoever we have here to face the Bills.

As did NFL spokesman Greg Aiello:

"Any comment at this time would have to come from the teams.

Most NFL observers think that the Patriots made the move in order to free up money to negotiate with defensive lineman Vince Wilfork. That has raised concern that New Englands defense has quickly become very young and more problematically without a strong leader on that side of the ball. Belichick isnt concerned:

"We have a lot of good leaders on our team and especially on the defensive side of the ball. No doubt about it, it's different, but I think it's good."

The Patriots open their 2009 NFL regular season on Monday night at home against the Buffalo Bills. The Raiders will also kick off their campaign on Monday night as they host their hated rivals the San Diego Chargers. - 2361

Seahawks Dominate Broncos As Both Starting QB Play Well

The Seahawks improved to 2-0 on the NFL preseason with a 27-13 win over the Denver Broncos. The Broncos dropped to 0-2 in their exhibition contests.

Hasselbeck completed 16 passes in 23 attempts including two touchdowns, though he was sacked three times. That was a big concern as he missed considerable time last season due to a back injury, but appeared to suffer no ill effects here. Still, the Seahawks starting QB said it was a traumatic experience:

"It's just like I remembered- no fun. ... I forgot how hard people hit in here. It's just like a car accident. It's part of the game ... and it was probably good that it happened."

After a rough opening weekend as the Denver Broncos starting QB, Kyle Orton recovered to post decent numbers. He completed 16 of his first 19 pass attempts including a touchdown before finishing 18 of 26 for 182 yards with a touchdown and an interception:

"I've got an awful lot of confidence right now, I really do. This is the best offense I've ever played with. This is the best talent around me that I've ever had. I just feel that my game right now is as good as it has ever been.

Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels was more reserved in his assessment:

The Seahawks will continue their NFL preseason slate next Saturday against the Chiefs in Kansas City. Denver, meanwhile, will host Ortons old team"the Chicago Bears"and face their former starting QB Jay Cutler for the first time. Seattle will get the NFL regular season off and running on Sunday, September 13th as they host the St. Louis Rams. Many people were first introduced to Middle Earth in J. R. R. Tolkien's Book The Fellowship Of The Ring. In order to find out where the story goes, it is necessary to read the sequel. The Lord Of The Rings The Two Towers is the second book in the trilogy. It is a story that in some ways is much more simple than that of the Fellowship, but which is every bit as important and powerful.

The book itself tends be difficult to get through because of the long portions of landscape description. Because Tolkien wants us to have as clear a picture of the terrain through which the characters are traveling, he tends to include a lot of detail. Everything from vegetation to weather is described and while it helps you develop a strong mental picture of Middle Earth (where the series is set), it can be hard to get through for many people. However, the slower portions tend to be balanced by shorter sections that depict great action such as important battles and sieges.

It is for this reason that the movie version, released in 2002 and directed by Peter Jackson, was excellent. Although there have been some criticisms about some of the plot choices that were made in the movie, on the whole it is an excellent film. Like the first movie, Jackson uses a combination of sets, special effects and make-up in order to recreate key locations such as King Theoden's hall in Rohan.

Because the focus in on action and not description, it is harder to ignore the references to the two towers. The first is that of Sauron himself, deep in the heart and darkness of Mordor. The second is that of the wizard Saruman who has fallen under Sauron's control. You see the extent of Saruman's treachery which is first mentioned in the Fellowship of the Ring.

The Fellowship was broken at the end of the first movie due to the attempted theft of the Ring from Frodo by Boromir. The movie is split into two different sub-plots. The first is the travels of Frodo and his companion Sam and the second is the travels of the remainder of the Fellowship. The companions are further separated due to events which occur during the book, and this gives us the opportunity to be introduced to many of the different cultures and races in Middle Earth.

You also begin to learn more about some of the motivations which affect the characters. Boromir, who is killed in the first movie, is from Gondor, a land on the border of Mordor and under constant siege from the forces of darkness. The movie delves into the motivations of the people of Gondor. We are introduced to Faramir, younger brother of Boromir who is desperate to prove himself to his father who serves as Steward of that country.

Although there were some criticisms surrounding the way Peter Jackson treated the storyline, for the most part this movie has been praised. There are so many memorable moments (such as the unforgettable Battle of Helm's Deep) that you are set up to go into the third part of the story with a much better understanding of Middle Earth as a whole.

One of the best ways to do this is to get to your most commonly used applications as quickly as possible. Just think of how much time is wasted when you are looking all over your computer trying to find the applications that you use all of the time.

If you were to add up all of that time spent looking around your computer it would eventually accumulate to a fair bit by the end of the week. So what's the alternative? In this article I'm going to show you two little tricks that you can do so that you will be able to find your applications much quicker.

Let's begine with the quick launch (if you are not sure what the quick launch is, its the group of icons that are right beside your start button). For those of you that don't see a group of small icons right beside your start menu, just right click on the taskbar and select the Properties option. Then just select the "Show Quick Launch" option. Now, in order to do anything you are going to have to unlock the quick launch since it is locked by default. To unlock it, right click on the task bar and select "Lock Taskbar". Now you should see small dotted lines which will allow you to resize it your quick launch. Now all you have to do is to just find the top 3 applications that you frequently use by going through your All Programs list (in the start menu) and then just right click on their icons and select the Copy option. Now go to your desktop, right click and select the Paste option. Now you should see a copy of that icon on your desktop. All you have to do is to just drag it into the quick launch area and the icon should be in bottom right hand corner next to the start menu. So now when start up your computer you don't have to look all over the place for your main programs - there right in front of you now.

Now the next step is to work on your start menu. If you click on your start menu you will notice that there is a faint horizontal line on the left hand side. Everything that is above this line is permanent unless you manually remove them and below this line are programs that you have most recently used. Here is where you are going to add 3-5 programs you use often to the permanent part of the start menu (the top half). Just go to the All Programs on the start menu, right click on the program icon and select "Pin To Start Menu". This will then put it on the permanent part of the start menu so that you can quickly get to them without having to search around your messy desktop.

Another thing that you can do is to spend some time cleaning up your desktop. Only keep icons for programs - everything else, like random files, you should either delete or place into folders so that they are completely organized and in order so when you go looking for them you know exactly where they are. - 2361
