Powers Of Precognition - Are They Real?

By Jim Bowen

There are several different ways that our psychic potential can show up. Even so, when it is all said and done the psychic powers are all derived from the very same energy. This energy is very versatile and it is called by many different names. The same ability is behind it no matter what it is called. The circumstances that surround it make it all seem to be different. Precognition is an elusive psychic ability to say the least.

It allows someone to be conscious or even see something that will occur in the future, prior to it actually happening. It is like the future being remembered. Similar to some other psychic perceptions, it is possible to have a precognition while we are awake but will more than likely happen during our sleep. When a person is sleeping they tend to down the blocks that keep their inner powers subdued.

Our conscious mind can significantly interfere in our ability to engage our psychic powers while awake, but while we're asleep, it's less capable of doing that, allowing our creative sides to more effectively process thoughts that the rational mind would block out. Precognition and many other psychic experiences happen more often while we're asleep because we're simply more open to them in this state than we are while awake.

But why is it possible to have a precognition at all? There are some definite possibilities to consider. There are people that believe that linear time does not exist and that the impression of linear time is simply an illusion that the senses create. When we access the unconscious knowledge that we all have, an effect is a precognitive experience.

The theory that time is really cyclical is another one. It says the each cycle in time is very similar to, if not nearly exact to each other. We have memories about the things that happened in a previous cycle and it presents itself as a glimpse of the future. If this is true then precognition truly allows people to remember things that occur in the future.

There is another theory that suggests that everyone and everything is connected with a powerful web of energy that crosses over all time and space. Because we are connected to that web we are able to see and know of things that are occurring in other parts of the web.

There are many examples of people proving that precognition actually occurs when they have predicted things that are going to happen in their own futures. The predictions are not always of extremely important things. It can be about small things like getting the incorrect order at a restaurant or a more important thing like the prediction of a bad breakup or a new job that is on the horizon. It is not uncommon for someone to be able to give very specific details about events that will occur in the future.

Making the process of precognition a conscious one can be a lot more difficult than simply having a precognitive experience, however. Many people need to study and practice in order to be effective. Concentrating on a specific target or goal is a good idea, since it focuses the mind and allows us to waste significantly less energy on getting to our goals.

Many people experience a precognition early in their lives but they choose not to believe it. Ignoring it can make the precognitive abilities much less effective because it will not be used frequently. They are not able to reach the levels that they could but do sometimes have a dream of things that are in the future. They see things in their sleep and at other times but simply refuse to believe it.

It does not have to be this way, though. They do not have to be sleeping to have a precognition experience and if they apply some serious studying they may be able to enhance their skill level. Some people have to enter a very relaxed state, like in meditation, in order to access the information and some people actually need to have some previous knowledge about what they are looking for in order to be successful.

When too much foreknowledge is gained it makes it more difficult because the conscious mind tends to interfere. Conscious precognition is possible if you are willing to practice to get it right. - 2361
