How To Succeed in Trade Shows

By Mara Hernandez-Capili

Exhibitors may have experienced poor sale performance during trade shows. They often wonder why, after spending hundreds and for some, thousands of dollars for a booth display. They wonder where they have gone wrong. These tips may just help crafters who are thinking about joining in trade shows to sell their goods.

First thing is the product itself. Most businesses do not sell because the product they are selling is either defective or not in a good condition. For crafters, it is important to create a very good looking product that you think will have a high chance of being bought at craft shows. It is important to make useful, aesthetically pleasing product that is tough and does not break or ruin easily.

Next tip is to market your product excellently. Call this marketing strategy. Create leaflets or product briefs with your product information printed clearly on it. Try to distribute them throughout the fair so you may have higher chances of people dropping by your booth. Try to place your business contact numbers on these leaflets just in case orders come pouring in!

Next is to make your booth or display as eye-catching as possible. Design your space with colorful patterns and pay close attention to details. You may also want to use other means like music or speakers to promote your booth and catch the consumers attention. You may also want to provide freebies for people as you may have higher chance of having your product promoted by suing this.

What is the best marketing tool in selling your stuffs but yourself? Yes, you! Try to put on a happy and cheerful face and greet customers even though they dont buy from you. Have a positive and friendly attitude in answering your customers questions and interacting with them. Treat each one as a friend because when the sales competition is balanced, people will tend to buy from someone they have good relationships with. - 2361
