How To Copy Wii Games Using Your Computer And Burner

By Scott Frayburn

Are you wondering if there is a way to copy Wii games? If you are - you're not alone! We have been getting a number of emails about this so we decided to write a quick article about copying Wii games.

There's a good chance that at some point in time you have used your CD burner to copy or burn a music CD. But as you probably know, you can't use the same burning program to make copies of video games.

Why is that?

Nintendo Wii games use a type of 'copyright protection' on them (as do all video games) which blocks your computer from being able to recognize or "make sense" of what is on the disc. Because your computer can't read the disc, it isn't able to know what it is supposed to be copying.

With this problem in mind, certain software companies set out to solve this issue by developing a program that is able to bypass these protections and allow your computer to read Wii games. By using this specialized software, all of a sudden video game discs "make sense" to your PC.

I should point out that this software isn't only for copying Wii games. You can also use it to make copies of xbox 360, PS3 and all other video games that are on a disc.

We did put a link at the bottom of this article where you can find out how to get a free trial of this type of software.

Although the technology behind these programs is complex, using the program is a snap. You just put the Wii game into your disk drive, let your computer make an "image" of it, and then insert a blank CD-R or DVD-R that your computer than copies the image onto.

With this type of software it's easy to copy Wii games whenever you get a new one. It's always a nice option to have and it's incredibly convenient since you get do right from your home computer. One warning though - it's addictive! - 2361
