Is rock music dead too?

By June Beezy

Rock music is something millions of people grew up on. Yes that includes me and I love good rock music. I love the feeling of sitting at a bar and being on my fourth beer while having some amazing rock music in the background. Rock music is what American music is all about. No matter where you go in the world, if someone is playing rock music, most likely it's an American band. Rock music is as American as apple pie and originates from country music and blues music.

No one can deny the popularity of Rock music. Yes the sales are low if you ask the big record execs but that only represents the lack of current talent. Once that one band that is going to take over the world comes about, rock music will be on top again. Rock music bands usually consists of three to five people.

Rock music has many influences that makes it very unique and that is why so many people can relate to it. It is the music today for bars and big gatherings where people from all walks of life come in and enjoy it. Original rock music today is hardly around but now their are a lot of sub genre's.

So what kind or rock music is out there when it comes to the sub genre's? Today their are so many sub genre's and each is in a class of it's own. Sub genre's seem to develop in almost all kind of music. It is somewhat of a natural evolution and why not because as human beings, things for us never stay the same.

Rock music although has slowed down and I'm still waiting for the next rock band, their is still some great rock musicians that come out every once in a while. One thing is for sure, rock music is going to be around forever. As long as we love drums and guitars, rock music is going to be alright.
