Bring Life To Your Home Or Office With Oil Paintings.

By Arold Augustin

There is no better way to demonstrate one's style and personality than by displaying framed art or an oil painting at the office or at home. By nature, interior design is art. People interested in it are able to redefine space, its effect, and its usefulness. Among the many aspects of home decor to consider are colors and themes. Offices customarily make use of formal themes, while homes more often employ a traditional or modern theme.

Decorative paintings offer sophistication in decorations. When selecting wall paintings or art it is possible to find many different themes. Nature scenes are often a popular theme among wall art and could include birds, flowers or wildlife. In addition modern art is a great accompaniment to a home with a modern decor. Landscape paintings have long been a popular theme and are appropriate in both the office and the home. No matter what the theme of your home or office, it is likely that you will be able to find an appropriate oil painting for use there.

Artists make use of different materials and paints to complete their work of art. Most common type of paint used for wall paintings is oil paints. These days acrylic paints are also used. Another popular type of paint used on canvas is the water based oil paints. They are easier to use and easier to clean up than the oil paints which were used earlier. The difference between the two kinds of paints - oil and acrylic - which are used on canvas is that the acrylic paints dry much faster than the oil paints.

Original works of art can be extremely expensive, costing entire fortunes, and most certainly beyond the purchasing power of the common man. Accordingly, those who are interested in the use of more famous paintings will commonly use imitations or replica artworks. While they certainly do not have the same power as the original work of art, art consumers can be pleased by the fact that they have a reproduction of a famous work. While original works continue to be sold for incredible sums, many are using giclee. Giclee is used to preserve notable works of art by storing it as a digital copy that can be employed to make copies indefinitely.

If you have the financial means you may want to purchase a famous oil painting on canvas. Even reproductions may be beyond what you can afford. Perhaps you would prefer to purchase you own canvas paints and create your own artwork. While you may be no Picasso, you will be able to form interesting designs and patterns on the canvas to use on your walls. If you want to purchase an original piece of art, you should visit a gallery. The gallery will display many different artworks by different artists. The variety you see at the gallery can allow you to become familiar with works of artist that you have not viewed before. It can expand your knowledge and allow you to have a better basis to choose art for your home. Even if you cannot afford the works that are displayed in the gallery, you can leave with a better sense of art that you do like and that which does not appeal to you. - 2361
