We Need To Stop Illegal Movie Downloads From Ruining This Industry

By Maude Powers

With so many file sharing programs available today, illegal movie downloads have become a big problem. If you think this isn't your problem then you should be aware that this trend could cost you a lot of money even if you are not guilty of this. If you do have any part in this then you could face huge fines. People need to be aware that this is against the law.

If you have a file sharing program on your computer then you could be part of the problem without even knowing it. If you have this program then people may be able to download any file, including movies, without your permission. If you have such a program on your PC then you should strictly limit what people can download from you.

Anytime you use these programs to download movies then odds are you are breaking the law. You should keep in mind that your address can be traced through your computer and you can be charged with pirating movies even if you have only done this once. While you may save money now, you could pay a lot more later.

The quality of the movies you get may also be very poor. Sometimes you may only get part of the movie or the sound will be off. You also have to be careful about what language the movie is downloaded in. This is even if you get the right movie at all. Some of these movies also have viruses attached to them that could harm your computer and wipe out other files.

You can download movies legally from several online sites. Even sites like Netflix and Blockbuster are considering making downloadable movies available. Sites that are legal to download from have all the tools you need right on their site. Not only are they safe but they are often backed by movie studios so you can be sure of the best picture and sound quality available.

There are many sites where you can sign up to watch satellite on your computer as well. You can get movies from all over the world for a onetime fee. This will allow you to watch both movies and television programs just like you would on your television. You can find these sites easily and most of these services are reasonably priced.

Is it really worth it to get a few free movies? With all of the possible consequences why not just go with a legal site in the first place. Copyright laws protect the people who make these movies. Imagine if everyone simply waited until one single person bought the movie and then downloaded it. Eventually they would no longer be able to afford to make these movies.

It all begins with one person. If you don't have the file sharing programs or movies on your computer then no one can download them. If you don't use these programs to illegally download movies then you will be one less person breaking the law. Stop the cycle today and set a good example for everyone. - 2361
