A Selection Of Short Motion Picture Story Lines To Look At

By Debbie Santos

It used to be that you had to go to the video store to get a movie. These days you can stay at home and get movies from a movie download site. You will find just about any movie you want with a good movie download site. Below is a small sample.

Vertical Limit: Peter Garett, an ex mountain climber who gave the sport up after his father died tragically while climbing, finds himself in a difficult situation. His sister and climbing partner have been trapped in a deep crevasse while attempting to climb the famous K2 peak. He is one of the only people capable of even attempting a near impossible rescue. Time is of the essence, as the trapped climbers will soon freeze to death.

Wayne's World: Wayne and Garth have their own TV show on public access television. Their show is spotted by TV exec Ben Oliver and Wayne and Garth are moving up. Wayne now ifs falling in love, and they abandon the show to be with his new love in her career as a rock star.

Sgt. Bilko: An army comedy with Steve Martin, Dan Akroyd and Phil Hartman. Sgt Bilko does basically everything but army duties with his platoon of soldiers. Life in Sgt. Bilko's army is quite nice. That is until Major Thorn shows up and tries to spoil the fun.

From the earth to The Moon: Jules Verne's fiction doesn't hover well in contrived sci-fi of early rocket flight to the moon. The cast looks mostly agitated. Cast includes Joseph Cotten, George Sanders, Debra Paget, Don Dubbins, Patric Knowles, and Henry Daniel. (100 minutes,'58)

The Saint: Master thief Simon Templar is close to retirement. He decides to take one last job, to properly fill his bank account. A Russian billionaire hires him to steal a formula for cold fusion from scientist Emma Russell. Two things change his plans. He falls in love with the beautiful scientist, and learns the potential disaster if this formula was in the wrong hands.

Madagascar: A fun animated family comedy. When Marty the zebra decides he wants to see the world from outside the zoo, the penguins help him escape. Marty is gone, his friend also breaks out to find him and bring him home. Once out, they are captured by well meaning humans and shipped to Africa, to be returned to the wild. They miss Africa, and wind up on the magical island of Madagascar.

It Takes 2: Surprisingly well designed comedy for children in reference to look-alikes who trade places in request to help each other. The fabulously prosperous gal has a dad who's getting ready to wed a patently terrible lady, when the orphan is getting ready to lose her best buddy, the communal employee who watches the orphanage. The doubles give extremely likable performances, as do their adult costars. Cast includes Kirstie Alley, Steve Guttenberg, Mary-Kate Olsen, Ashley Olsen, Philip Bosco, Desmond Roberts, Ernie Grunwald, and Lawrence Dane. (101 minutes,'95)

Ice Age: In this animation comedy we find ourselves viewing the blight of the animals as the ice age is descending upon them. An unlikely quartet of animals, Manny the wooly mammoth, Sid the sloth, Diego the saber toothed tiger, and Scrat the prehistoric squirrel, must find their way to warmer places before the ice age ends their lives. They battle the element, and devious attacks from other animals to try and survive the ice age.

A Cry in The Dark: The amazing true tale of Lindy Chamberlain, an Australian female implicated of killing her infant, in spite of her claims that the youngster was taken by a dingo (a wild Australian dog). Author-director Schepisi informs his tale with nearly documentary like actuality, eloquently assaulting the format of trial by story that made Chamberlain and her spouse the most maligned couple in Australia. Streep and Neill are heartbreakingly excellent. Cast includes Meryl Streep, Sam Neill, Bruce Myles, Charles Tingwell, Notch Tate, and Lewis Fitzgerald. (121 minutes,'88)
