A Guide To The Best Of Disney Movies

By Chris Channing

Disney has given the gift of entertainment and joy to several generations running. Out of the many generations, there have been several Disney movies that have made a huge impact on how society views cartoons or even movies deemed as "kids movies." Such movies are highly recommended in viewing, as they teach morals and ethics in life, as well as entertain like few other movies do.

Cartoons weren't commonly seen as masterpieces of art until movies such as The Lion King came out. The Lion King made ample use of the elements and colors to make a truly invigorating experience. But after the appeal of the environment diminishes, the intriguing plot and storyline comes to be the main attraction of the film. In addition, morals and ethics are taught to young kids as characters in the movie battle their own troubles and hardships.

Even before the era of The Lion King, there was another blockbuster hit by the name of The Fox And The Hound. This movie was critically acclaimed as a moving story that could lead even the strongest to break down and cry in the end. As with The Lion King, younger audiences took home morals and values from the classic story of The Fox And The Hound in addition to being entertained by the interesting plot line.

As time went on, Disney started focusing on 3D imagery and design. This was made apparent in the the 2003 release of Finding Nemo. Finding Nemo might not have had the "killer storyline" that previous titles had, but it was indeed revolutionary in terms of comedy and 3D modeling. The exciting romp through the ocean with Nemo and pals is not just a treat for kids, but adults alike.

Quite a few of the Disney movies that were greats were indeed cartoons, but this isn't always the case. The Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl is an example of a movie that wasn't reminiscent of a cartoon at all. Instead, this movie set in a pirate's world had leading actor Johnny Depp fighting his way through his problems on screen in a formidable pirate uniform- and winning the hearts of young ladies everywhere.

In closing, the proper Disney fan should take a long look at Cars. This Disney movie may not have the nostalgic value others do as it is newer, but it carries the cute and witty charm that similar Disney favorites have- such as Finding Nemo. Cars in particular had a cult following of kids and teens all across the nation, although it's hard to find a Disney movie that hasn't at some point in time.

Final Thoughts

Children and adults alike will enjoy the previously mentioned Disney movies, but children have been especially attached to such movies. Also keep in mind that there are many other options in classic Disney movies to explore, far more than the ones previously discussed. As such, try to keep an open mind about every Disney movie that you come across- as there are surely some winners.
